Lesson Plans 8/31-9/1/10

Benchmark: SC.912.N.1.6 Describe how scientific inferences are drawn from scientific observations and provide examples from the content being studied.
Objectives: Student knows the characteristics of living things and can observe and classify objects as living or non-living based on the characteristics of life.
Daily Essential Question: What inferences can we make about living things from our observations?
Agenda:
1. Warm up - "Life"
2. Mini Lesson - "Studying Life" (Review Sect 1-3)
3. Work Period - Critical Thinking p. 32 #29, 32-33, & 35 (may vary)
4. Closing - Review the Characteristics of Life
Assessment: Teacher Observation, Discussion, and Practice
Homework: Using what you learned, think about how you can tell the difference between something that is living and non-living.
