Lesson Plans 9/4-11/2012

Standard: SC.912.L.18.12 Discuss the properties of water that contribute to Earth's suitability as an environment for life: cohesive behavior, ability to moderate temperature, expansion upon freezing, and versatility as a solvent (moderate).
Objectives:
1. Demonstrate some of the unique properties of water to include polarity, solubility, cohesion, adhesion, changes in state, and pH.
2. Explain the structure of the water molecule and role of hydrogen bonding in a droplet of water.
Daily Essential Question
How do the unique properties of water allow life to exist on Earth?
Agenda
ENGAGE: How Well Do I Know These Words - Properties of Water (Day 1); Water, Water Everywhere (Day 2)
EXPLORE: Properties of Water Observation
