Composition Book

Directions on how to properly use the composition book.

The composition book is designed so that pages are not easily taken out. It is important that students do not rip pages out of the composition book. We will later discuss what to do if an error is made.

NUMBERING OF PAGES:
Pages are numbered starting at the very first sheet. Each page shall be numbered front and back. This means that the first sheet shall be numbered "1" on the front and "2" on the back. The second sheet shall be numbered "3" on the front and "4" on the back. All pages shall receive numbers on the front and back so that the last page shall say "200".

TABLE OF CONTENTS:
Do not start on your table of contents until you are given directions by the instructor. Pages 1-4 shall be reserved for a table of contents. This will help the instructor find any specific warm-ups that he is looking for.

WARM-UPS:
Starting on page 5, students shall put each days warm-up on a new sheet. For instance, Day 1's warm-up may have covered pages 5 and 6. This means that Day 2's warm-up shall begin on page 7. Students are not required to write on the front and back of each sheet, but it is advised as you only have 200 pages in each composition book (typically).

TITLE:
Each warm-up shall have a title at the top of its page. This title is provided by the instructor. If the warm-up extends to the next page the student must write the title of the warm-up on the following pages to include "(continued)".

WHAT TO WRITE:
Students will be given directions and/or questions for each warm-up. Directions will be notated by a letter (A, B, C, etc) and questions will be notated by a number (1, 2, 3, etc). For DIRECTIONS, students must write the directions completely to include copy any passages included in the directions. For QUESTIONS, students are not to write the question, but must write complete sentence answers.
