Macromolecules Diagram (Guided Practice)

Students did a "vocabulary burrito" utilizing the 4 major types of macromolecules: carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids. Students were to fold a sheet of paper long-wise ("hotdog" style) twice (into thirds).

In the left column they labeled it "Macromolecules" and wrote the 4 major types below that, leaving about a 1/4 of the page to each.

The middle column they labeled it "Diagram" in which they drew a picture of the monomer and polymer.

The right column they labeled "Description of Structure" in which they bullet out properties of the macromolecule's structure (ie. contains carbon atoms bound to hydrogen and oxygen atoms).

The student then folded the right flap over and wrote on the back "Functions" and described the functions of each of the macromolecules. See images below for how the assignment was laid out.
